Public Authority for Industry (PIA) in cooperation with Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) and technical support from United National Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is planning to Establish New Subcontracting Partnership Exchange (SPX) Center in Kuwait to promote Kuwaiti Companies.

The objective of SPX center is to maximize the economic impact by developing the capacity of the Kuwaiti local supplier base to successfully compete in the local, regional and International Market.

• The Kuwait SPX center will assist local SMEs to develop their technical and managerial capabilities, which will enable SMEs to become competitive in business
• The Kuwait SPX center will acts as vehicles for SMEs to strengthen their supply chain networks and create hub for world class suppliers in Kuwait.
• The goal of Kuwait SPX center is to support Kuwaiti manufacturing sector by facilitating linkages between local, regional and International industrial companies.
• Kuwait SPX will create strong Industrial subcontractors Database of 400 companies at as foundation for SPX center

The GSPX (GCC Subcontracting and Partnership eXchange) in the GCC is the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting initiative for industrial cooperation which has been in place since 2001, Headquarters for Regional GSPX center is located in Qatar which covers 6 counties in GCC and acts as Pilot SPX center for all SPX centers in GCC. GSPX have already created SPX centers in Dubai, Bahrain, Qatar with over 1,500 Company profiles and regularly organizing business promotional events for SPX members on regular basis. Over the last 25 years, UNIDO has established Subcontracting and Partnership Exchanges (SPXs) with the objective of helping local enterprises to successfully meet the challenges of globalization and to take advantage of the emerging opportunities that evolve from industrial subcontracting, outsourcing and supply chain opportunities. At the foundation stage of Kuwait SPX, 400 company profiles will be added to Kuwait SPX center which will grow further to cover all companies operating in Kuwait.

Kuwait SPX Capacity-building supports the suppliers to meet the requirement through Next generation SPX tools like Outsourcing, Tender Information System, Benchmarking program and Supplier Development program which helps in creating business opportunities for Kuwaiti Subcontractors, to enhance strong supply chain with local buyers, formulate Trade and Investment proposals, mobilizing financing and identifying technology partners. The Kuwait SPX team of experts will work alongside key industrial organization to catalogue locally produced products and enhance production capabilities of Kuwaiti manufacturing companies

Within each Regional SPX Centre, a Kuwait SPX expert team, supported by key industrial organizations, works directly with key industrial buyer networks to identify specific opportunities and then assist in matching with relevant potential Kuwaiti suppliers.

A regional and international level exhibition will be organized in cooperation with all SPX centers in GCC to facilitate the Kuwaiti Suppliers. All major buyer and supplier will get an opportunity to explore the strength of Supplier in Kuwait.
